Apple Group
The Apple group met with our tutor, Cecilia, and we introduced our professions to get to know each other better. Then we read the course brief with the tutor.
Then, we read the course brief with the tutor, and the tutor showed us her main research areas: journalism, data, interview, and narrative design. We learnt about the case studies related to the tutor’s research.
Then we started to discuss the general ideas we had after reading the brief and started to record one panel each on a piece of white paper. In order to be able to extend the scope of the topic, Tutor guided the group to talk about their own work experience.

Reading Group
Group members share the task of reading different types of articles. I was responsible for an article.(https://otherfutures.nl/uploads/documents/le-guin-the-carrier-bag-theory-of-fiction.pdf)

Inspired by yesterday’s brainstorming, our broader theme was set as WATER, based in London. Members each chose a direction of interest to research, and subsequently chose a direction to narrow down.
WED.
We had a great discussion after reading groups and have decided to use WATER as our main point of entry:
Valentina – Accessibility of water
Sia- Social movement of people along water
Mingwei- Water companies -specifically digital industries
Colleen- History of canals in Londo
Ziff- Rising water levels
My research focussed on water use in London and the UK. Firstly, I researched water companies, and then I researched technology companies’ initiatives for water sustainability.

By reading the website information of Water Resources and Google Technology with their publicly available documents. I have found many sources of accurate data on the world’s rising water levels, which I believe will provide factual data to support our research.
