Poster
I created a themed poster to encourage everyone to join my workshop

Inspired by ual tuition fee receipt, I decided the basic layout.
Heaven and Earth Bank(天地银行)
Rather than being a specific term passed down through folklore, Heaven and Earth Bank isn’t an actual, physical bank. It’s a concept created within traditional Chinese customs, where people remember their ancestors and burn joss paper on specific holidays. In these traditions, the companies printing joss paper are often called ‘Heaven and Earth Bank,’ but there’s no specific founder or operator. The ‘money’ from Heaven and Earth Bank typically refers to joss paper, which is burned as an offering to ancestors or the deceased during rituals.
I plan to cleverly utilize this concept since it isn’t strictly a traditional custom. Using this as a hook, I can convey the funeral theme while sparking people’s curiosity.
publicise
On Monday, I posted the poster in a group chat, but the response was limited, with only a few people confirming attendance. To better gather participants, I then put the poster on the study bulletin board, which led to several classmates messaging me privately to express interest in the workshop theme and listen to my project topic. Unfortunately, they mentioned that the timing wasn’t suitable for them.

Print materials
I turned A Guide to Traditional Chinese Funeral Customs into a handy flipbook.
I also printed photos of the offerings we’ll discuss to make them easy to pick up and examine.
Paper and pens are ready, and to complete the ‘burning paper’ step, I prepared an electric lighter.
